Car fires in two parking garages in the city within a few minutes

When the emergency services arrived on Waldstraße, a vehicle on the sixth floor was already on fire and thick smoke had spread through the building.

Only a short time later, there was another fire in another parking garage in Ziegelstraße. A parked car was also on fire there and the flames had already spread to two other vehicles. Due to the proximity in time and the spatial situation, a large contingent of emergency services was alerted. In addition to the professional fire department of the city of Offenbach, the Offenbach-Bieber volunteer fire department and a fire engine from the Frankfurt professional fire department were also deployed.

Thanks to the rapid and coordinated intervention of the fire department, it was possible to prevent the fire from spreading to other vehicles and building structures. Nevertheless, a total of four cars fell victim to the flames during the two operations - one in the first parking garage and three in the second.

As far as is known, no one was injured. The cause of the fires is still unclear and is the subject of a police investigation.
