Rescue service vehicles
From the 1970s to the 1990s, the professional fire department used the existing ambulance to protect its own firefighters. It was not until 1999 that the professional fire department gradually rejoined the regular rescue service. Today, the Offenbach Fire Department employs civilian emergency paramedics who permanently staff two ambulances of the professional fire department in the public rescue service of the city of Offenbach am Main.
As the vehicles change continuously, there is no fixed call assignment. The Florian OF 1-83-1 operates as a 24-hour ambulance and the 1-84-1 as a day ambulance from 07:00 to 19:00.
