Power failure
Despite the high safety standards of energy producers and supply grid operators in Germany, technical faults, human error, criminal activity, natural disasters or, in exceptional cases, overloads can lead to large-scale and prolonged power outages.
The energy supply companies, especially the local suppliers, have mobile power generators with considerable capacities that can feed into the public grid.
Read what the fire department has to say:
The Offenbach fire department also has a number of mobile generators for self-supply during firefighting operations.
However, only the grid operator or energy supply company is permitted to feed power into public grids.
Due to its cooperation in the event of a disaster, the Offenbach fire department is responsible for various tasks in the event of an emergency:
- Supplying the Stadthalle Offenbach (official emergency shelter in the event of a disaster) and
- supplying the OVB filling station (filling station for emergency vehicles) with electricity.
Permanently installed feed-in points for emergency power generators of the fire department are set up here.
The following emergency power generators are available for this purpose
The fire department also has numerous fixed and portable power generators in vehicles for operational use.
