City of Offenbach

Locations

The Offenbach fire department has one fire station and four fire stations, from which the professional and volunteer firefighters set off on their missions.

The professional fire department has its permanently manned station at Rhönstraße 10, which is conveniently located on the ring road that runs through the outer area of Offenbach. In addition, the intersection with Bieberer Straße, which is located directly at the station, is another well-developed connection to the inner city area and in the direction of Bieber/Waldhof.
This convenient connection to the main thoroughfares and arterial roads in Offenbach, together with the geographically central location of the station in relation to the various districts of the city, enables the respective deployment locations to be reached quickly within the legally prescribed response time.
The possibility of switching the traffic lights on the ring road to green for the emergency vehicles has a supportive effect when deploying, e.g. in order to avoid unnecessarily prolonging the deployment due to traffic congestion during rush hour.

  • About us

    Professional fire department

According to the Hessian law on fire protection, general assistance and disaster control (HBKG), cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants must have professional fire departments.

Volunteer fire departments

The volunteer fire departments are an integral part of the Offenbach Fire Department's emergency response concept. They form a fallback level and supplement the professional fire department.
If the professional fire department is understaffed, the volunteer fire departments compensate for this understaffing at night and at weekends in the event of an alarm. For this purpose, an arrival time of a maximum of 13 minutes after the alarm is raised must be ensured.
