Course planning and organization for the professional fire department for courses at the HLFS, other professional fire departments and other institutions

  • As part of training in accordance with the Fire Service Career Ordinance (see below for further information)
  • In the context of further operational service

Training course for the professional fire department, currently with the following content:

  • Chainsaw operator
  • Safe working in areas with a risk of falling
  • Internal machine operator training for all BFO vehicles
  • Operations officer in the control center
  • Technical operations management
  • Railroad grounding

Course planning, organization and implementation for volunteer fire departments:

  • Basic courses
  • Squad leader courses
  • Machinist courses
  • Radiotelephony courses
  • Breathing apparatus training courses
  • Motorized chainsaw instruction
  • Technical assistance courses
  • Safe working in areas with a risk of falling
  • Driving instructions on special vehicles depending on the area of responsibility of the relevant FF
  • All other courses offered at the HLFS

Coordination of training with the specialist areas and subdivisions of the BFO, including

  • Technology
  • emergency services
  • rescue service
  • Control center

Training and further training of the guard groups

  • mainly in shifts
  • is carried out by the watch group leaders on duty or the training officers
  • Fixed training times are scheduled during the shifts.
  • The topics include the following areas:
    • Flash-over training
    • Fall protection
    • Railroad grounding
    • Annual breathing protection exercises
    • Rescue of people from gas fires
    • Rescue of trapped persons
    • Ice rescue
    • Engineers training
    • Multi-purpose and rescue boat training
    • Various operational exercises
    • Basic and advanced training in rescue service medicine and emergency care
    • Duty sports
    • However, some special courses must be held outside of regular shift times, e.g:
      • Engineers' course for DLK, KW and special vehicles (M C)
      • Breathing apparatus attendant course
      • Long-term breathing apparatus carrier course
      • Hazardous goods measuring course
      • Internal and external seminars and further training events
      • Regular further training courses are held for the management service and the incident command service.
