Department 1: Preventive fire and hazard protection
Preventive fire and hazard protection is the first link in the hazard prevention chain. Before the fire department has to take action in the event of a hazard, preventive fire and hazard protection ensures that life, health or the natural basis of life in a building are not endangered.
The aim of preventive fire and hazard protection is to keep fire loads in a building as low as possible, to prevent the spread of fire to other rooms, floors or buildings, to secure escape routes and, last but not least, to prepare for firefighting in the event of danger.
In order to achieve these goals, the Preventive Fire and Hazard Protection department is involved at an early stage in the construction of a new building or change of use of a building or is consulted as an expert body with regard to fire protection. Here it is important to take into account the many legal standards in order to meet the statutory safety standard.
In order to maintain the minimum safety standard, regular hazard prevention inspections are carried out.
Hazard prevention is supplemented by fire safety education, which informs children of pre-school or elementary school age about the dangers of fires.
Preventive fire and hazard protection is also active in an advisory capacity as part of all tasks. Thanks to our many years of experience and regular further training, we are able to suggest solutions that increase the safety of people living or working in the building and avoid unnecessary costs.
In addition, we use our specialist knowledge for our own building maintenance, which is also carried out by Department 1.
