Civil Protection Officer (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Civil Protection Officer (m/f/d).

Your main tasks:

  • Participation in the conception, reorganization and development of civil defense in the city of Offenbach am Main
  • Responsible administration of a separate area of responsibility within civil defense
  • Development, establishment and updating of civil alarm planning for the city of Offenbach am Main
  • Implementation of topic-specific technical advice for the civil protection staff of the city of Offenbach am Main
  • If the technical fire department requirements are met: Assignment as platoon leader and, after successful training, as an officer from the incident command service

You have:

  • Completed career training or successful career advancement for the higher fire department or completed university studies (FH diploma/bachelor's degree) in a subject area suitable for the position (e.g. emergency management, management in hazard prevention, international emergency and disaster relief, etc.) or completed vocational training in a subject area suitable for the position (e.g. fire department, rescue service) in conjunction with several years of demonstrable, relevant professional experience (in the case of completed vocational training, classification is initially according to TVöD 9a)
  • Knowledge and experience in civil protection and disaster control are desirable
  • If the technical fire department requirements are met: Practical professional experience in the operational control service of a fire department is also an advantage
  • Highest discretion, discretion, sense of responsibility and loyalty
  • Structured, independent and goal-oriented way of working and ability to work in a team
  • Very good written and spoken German language skills (at least level C2 CEFR) combined with the ability to express yourself appropriately to the target audience
  • Possession of an EU driver's license (at least class B)
  • Willingness to work outside normal working hours in the event of an incident (e.g. during disaster control operations)
