Witold Riedel (born 1969) looks for patterns in systems that long for balance: "Everything is connected. Everything is in balance. Everything is destined
to change."
What adapts and how? What breaks and how? What grows and how? His works are often created on paper and with unusual materials:
Inks, flames, exhaust fumes.
After studying at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach, Witold Riedel moved to New York in 1996 and returned to Offenbach in 2022 - hence the title of the exhibition: "Arriving". In the meantime, the artist has lived and worked around the world.
He is interested in how he can process his own and the planet's consciousness, especially against the backdrop of global climate change. There too, as in his art, everything is dependent on everything else.
