German history(s) of democracy - What is worth fighting for

Exhibition in the Erich Martin Room to mark the reopening of the Graphic Art Collection

Exhibition period: July 14 - end of 2023

Co-determination, the rule of law and social participation are what people in Germany and around the world have fought and continue to fight for. This year, two anniversaries of German democratic history coincide: the 1848 Revolution and the popular uprising in the GDR on June 17, 1953. The poster exhibition 17 June Compact, presented by the Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the German Democratic Republic, is complemented by a museum exhibition on the 1848 Revolution. Unique caricatures from the graphic art collection illustrate the opinions of the fateful revolutionary year of 1848.

Visits to the exhibition Thursday 14-16 and on request. Please contact the museum during opening hours or call 069/8065-2446.
