Students of the Offenbach University of Art and Design (HfG)
Art laboratory / Lecturer: Merja Herzog-Hellstén
Free printmaking / Lecturer: Volker Steinbacher
On display are sculptures and objects made from various materials (clay, glass, wood, bronze and 3D printing), as well as prints from the fields of woodcut and linocut, etching and lithography. In the joint exhibition, the students explore the question of what media from the fields of sculptural design and artistic printing are capable of achieving today and what relevance and quality artistic craftsmanship, with its contingencies and risks, but also with its surprises and inherent laws, has in the present day.
The industrial hall in the Haus der Stadtgeschichte is located in the immediate vicinity of the Hochschule für Gestaltung. Once again, the team at the building has decided to cooperate in the field of contemporary art in a way that is beneficial to the neighborhood. Virtually a stone's throw away from the university, students are given the opportunity to present their work in a museum setting. In addition to working on their own works of art, the students are closely involved in the process of developing the exhibition. The jointly developed exhibition in the industrial hall opens up new perspectives on the different artistic approaches. The proximity of the two- and three-dimensional works in particular changes the way they are viewed.
