"Women and men have equal rights" - this is Article 3, Paragraph 2 of the Basic Law. With its adoption in 1949, a program for equality was formulated, but it did not describe the social reality in the young Federal Republic of Germany.
Four female politicians pushed through this idea of equal rights across party lines: Frieda Nadig, Elisabeth Selbert, Helene Weber and Helene Wessel. The panel exhibition, updated around the women's suffrage passed 100 years ago, pays tribute to their efforts.
The exhibition is organized by the EAF I European Academy for Women in Politics and Business on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
