New event series "Friends exclusively"
21.02.2020 – The new "Exclusive Friends" series of events organized by the Friends of the Klingspor Museum offers its members special insights. Meetings with artists, individual guided tours and one or two surprises are planned.
After a successful start to 2019 with the book artist Ines von Ketelhodt, on Wednesday, February 12, academic volunteer Monika Jäger gave an exclusive tour of the museum's new permanent exhibition, which she curated under her leadership, to members and friends of the association. Jäger explained the challenges and special features of a graphic art collection from a conservation point of view and gave many interesting insights into the history of the former Klingspor brothers' type foundry and the collection's focus on type, illustration, posters, press printing, painters' and artists' books at individual stations in the exhibition from the first floor to the roof of the historic building. The special concept of the exhibition, with its low showcases, seating and materials provided, was also well received, inviting visitors to engage intensively with book and type art. A convivial get-together with snacks, drinks and lively conversations rounded off this wonderful evening among friends in the museum.
