MISFITS' GAZE | THEIRstory #2 is an interdisciplinary, queerfeminist concert series that combines contemporary chamber music with research and mediation work through conceptual events.

The Frankfurt soloist ensemble Broken Frames Syndicate specializes in contemporary music and interdisciplinary projects. Under the motto "Design for Democracy. Atmospheres of a better life", we show what a better life means to us: an open, just, free and diverse society.
We are not there yet, which is why we create spaces for discourse and exchange and use our programs to show an alternative to current normativity.
We only perform works by FLINTA* artists and amplify voices that are too rarely heard. The concerts take place in the foyer of the Stadtbücherei Frankfurt and in the Klingspor Museum Offenbach. The diversity of contemporary music and our society will be celebrated in the midst of an inflatable stage set.
In collaboration with the Archiv Frau & Musik, accompanying educational formats will provide information about intersectional feminism and combine research with art and music.

(IN)VISIBILITY
The concert at the Klingspor Museum focuses on (UN)VISIBILITY.
As part of the exhibition "Powerful Textures. Language in Textile", our concert on 26.06.26 with chamber music by Ruby Fulton, Caroline Shaw, Carola Bauckholt, Mu-Xuan Lin and Helena Cánovas Parés is dedicated to the question of (in)visibility.
How do we read human bodies? What ideas do we inscribe in them - about what a man or a woman should look like or be like, for example?
Social attributions shape how we perceive others and how we ourselves are seen. However, many people do not find themselves in these heteronormative and cultural categories. A field of tension arises between visibility and external attribution: the desire to be perceived as an individual, multi-layered subject - beyond labels, norms and supposedly clear identities.
The works in the concert approach this topic from different perspectives and ask how music can make experiences of visibility, projection and self-determination audible.
The event will mainly be held in German (partly in English) - English translations will be provided.
