The Rudo Spemann Prize 2015 was awarded

Anna-Lena Unger: Glass Animals - Intruxx. Rudo Spemann Prize 2015.

On July 14, 2015, the jury for the 2015 Rudo Spemann Prize competition met at the Klingspor Museum. Its members are:
Ruth Spemann, Staatstheater Darmstadt; Prof. Sascha Lobe, Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach; Tanja Leonhardt, artist and calligrapher, Groß Gerau; Grete Steiner, city councilor Offenbach am Main; Reinhard Keller, Würzburg; Ulrich Bernbeck, Offenbach am Main (both in the graphic arts industry and members of the Klingspor family).
The prize is awarded every two years to perpetuate the life's work of Rudo Spemann, one of the most established typeface artists in the first half of the 20th century. Accordingly, it promotes young type design with a focus on handwriting.
Fifty-one entries were assessed, mainly from students at universities in Wiesbaden, Offenbach am Main, Augsburg, Mainz, Düsseldorf and Karlsruhe. All the works corresponded to the theme: poster, CD cover, lyrics to a favorite song.

Preliminary work by Anna-Lena Unger on Glass Animals - Intruxx.

The jury unanimously awarded the €2,500 prize to Anna-Lena Unger, a student at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden. Her work "Glass Animals - Intruxx" impressed the jury with its organic combination of letters and animal figures, which were developed from broad, circular ink strokes and combined into a powerful poster composition.

An award for her work "I am a creep" also goes to Guodong Zhang, Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main.

Presentation of the award winner on September 4, at 2 p.m. (1:30 p.m.: press) at the Klingspor Museum.

Responsible for the jury meeting and organization at the Klingspor Museum:
