Studio Uta Schneider

I have been working as a freelance artist in the book medium for almost 40 years. Other genres are drawing and spatial-text installations - mainly works on and with paper. I am particularly interested in the alternation between the wall and hand medium - as well as the collaboration that I have been practicing with Ulrike Stoltz under the name 'usus' since 1986.

For more than 25 years, I have been passing on my experience and knowledge and teaching professional artistic creativity development. I travel the world with my workshops, but I am at home in my studio in Offenbach. Since March 2024, I have been offering artist book courses for small groups in my new studio.

In addition to my work as an artist and lecturer, I also work as a designer. Typography is the be-all and end-all for me. Whether it's interior typography, overall design or cover design: detailed designs tailored to the content are my weakness, especially the design of art catalogs and their production management.

From 2001-2012, I was Managing Director of the Stiftung Buchkunst and thus responsible for the organization of the competitions 'The Most Beautiful German Books' and 'Best Books from all over the World' (with international contacts in the publishing industry).
