Report on the development of the creative industries in Offenbach
On July 14, 2015, Lord Mayor and Head of Economic Affairs Horst Schneider and the Economic Development Department presented the report on the development of the creative industries in Offenbach am Main from 2007 to 2013.
This report is based on an analysis of the City of Offenbach's business register. The aim of the study was to show quantitatively how the creative industries developed between 2007 and 2013. On the basis of the report, needs-based and target group-oriented offers and formats have been successively introduced over the last ten years in order to actively promote and further expand the creative industries in Offenbach.
The core statements of the report are:
- The number of creative companies has risen steadily.
- Over the period under review, the total number of companies has risen by 120%, meaning that there were more than twice as many creative companies in 2013 as in 2007.
- The sector distribution in 2013 is also similar to that in 2007, i.e. all sectors have grown equally.
- The largest share of creative companies is accounted for by the management consultancy / advertising / marketing sector at 60%, followed by companies from the IT sector (17%) and the graphics / design / fashion sector (10%).
- 15 % of the companies surveyed are relatively evenly distributed among the other sectors.
