Free drinking water: refreshment for people and animals
19.08.2025
Summer, sun, warmth - and often enough heat. Anyone out and about in Offenbach city center can now cool off at SCAPE°. A water station has been set up in the new exhibition and experience space on weather and climate at Frankfurter Strasse 39, where passers-by can fill up their water bottles free of charge. Four-legged friends are also very welcome: Two dog bowls in the outdoor area of the SCAPE° offer the animals a pleasant refreshment.
Lord Mayor Dr. Felix SchwenkeA sip of water costs nothing here and makes your stay in our city center a little more pleasant.
It's a small service that can make a big difference: for people shopping or strolling around, for families with children or for cyclists passing through. No great effort - but a practical service for everyone," says Lord Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke.
With this campaign, SCAPE° becomes part of "Refill-Deutschland", an initiative of "a tip: tap e.V." with its origins in the zero-waste movement, which promotes a network of refill stations throughout Germany. The aim of the association is to reduce plastic and raise awareness of the problems of wasting resources and environmental pollution caused by plastic.
By participating in "Refill Germany", SCAPE° is taking part in the heat action plan. "Water is vital, especially on hot days. With our initiative, we are ensuring that it is easily accessible and free of charge for everyone - so that you can walk through our city center with a cool head even in summer," explains Mayor Sabine Groß. SCAPE° invites all citizens to use the two free water stations for people and dogs - for a joint contribution to a more sustainable and animal-friendly city.
