"Full nut ahead": Reading with author Thomas Klischke at the Offenbacher Ohrenreise
05.11.2025
"Open your ears and join in" was the motto of this year's Offenbach Ear Journey in the children's library. Author Thomas Klischke recently read to ten second grade classes from Offenbach elementary school. Over 200 children from Humboldt School, Beethoven School and Lauterborn School listened to the story "Volle Nuss voraus".
Thomas Klischke is not only an author, but also an actor, so he reads his stories very vividly and captivatingly. The children listened spellbound to the warbling of a blackbird and the lisping voice of Nellie the squirrel. Nellie has many adventures and makes new friends on her search for hazelnuts for Grandma's hazelnut cream. The grumpy hedgehog Mampfred shows her the way to the hazelnut grove. Songs are integrated into the story, which encouraged the children to join in and clap along.
After the reading, the children learned about the special features of the children's library with the help of a short quiz and a movement game.
After almost two hours, the children left the children's library happy with great new impressions and many borrowed books. The children's library team is already looking forward to next year's Offenbacher Ohrenreise.
