Vibe Coding
Digital word check: your guide through the world of digital language
We regularly check a term from the digital world for you.
With this type of programming (coding), you explain to an artificial intelligence (AI) in natural language what you want to create. The AI then generates the required source code, i.e. translates it into a programming language. You enter prompts and an AI application based on a large language model (LLM) takes over the programming work.
You can concentrate fully on the result and on the "vibe" of the created application, let yourself drift and "feel if it fits".
The term was coined by Andrej Karpathy, a co-founder of OpenAI. Vibe coding is particularly suitable for quickly creating prototypes of software or for creating small projects such as your own website or games - even without learning a programming language. However, if applications are created where errors would have drastic consequences, people with the appropriate programming skills should still be involved. This is because the focus of vibe coding is not on reliability and freedom from errors, but on playfulness, simply making things possible and trying things out.
