Further digital educational offers
Offenbach Adult Education Center is expanding its commitment to basic digital education and is now making it even easier to enter the digital world. A cooperation with the German Adult Education Association (DVV) as part of the "Digital? It's easy!" project has resulted in an additional web-based learning offer that is accessible free of charge.
Two "Digital World" learning modules are now permanently integrated on the www.offenbach.de/digital-einfach website. The modules can be tried out directly - ideal for anyone who wants to gain an initial insight or wants to deal with digital information more confidently in everyday life.
Visitors can learn about two key topics: "Recognizing and fending off fake news" - how to see through and safely assess false information, and "The impact of AI on our world" - an understandable look at the opportunities and challenges of current AI developments.
The "Digital World" is a new online course on the vhs learning portal. It provides basic knowledge about smartphones, computers and everyday digital skills. Complex content such as data security, the opportunities and risks of digital change and how to use digital applications are explained using short videos, clear images and easy-to-understand texts. There is also a read-aloud function for people who find it difficult to read and understand long texts. In total, the course comprises around 100 modules with around 2,500 exercises - which can be flexibly selected according to interest and learning needs.
Last summer, experiences and ideas relating to digital learning opportunities were shared with the German Adult Education Association (DVV). A team from the DVV project "vhs Lernportal" visited courses at the vhs Offenbach to observe first-hand how the newly developed "Digital World" offering is being used by learners and what opportunities it offers in practice.
With the project "Digital? It's easy!" project, the vhs is helping people in Offenbach to strengthen their digital skills - step by step, with a low threshold and always close to the learners' everyday lives.
The project invites people to discover digital tools and possibilities with curiosity. On the project website at www.offenbach.de/digital-einfach, there are numerous learning opportunities that can be used independently. At the same time, the project is aimed at people who have previously had little contact with the digital world: face-to-face offerings such as the Einfach Digital-Café create a bridge from the analog to the digital reality of life - comprehensible, informative and practical.
