15 years of OF Bildungsbüro - an occasion that shows how comprehensively educational counseling can work today. As a referral service, it shows anyone in Offenbach who is interested in various educational and advisory services and helps them to find the right path and contact person - with a great deal of expertise and a comprehensive overview. Since it was founded on October 27, 2010, the education office has been offering guidance and support on all aspects of daycare, school, catching up on qualifications, educational leave and financial support.
Just in time for the anniversary of the OF Bildungsbüro, an anniversary video was released that highlights the work and development of the last 15 years. It is also a thank you to all those who have contributed to and supported the great success of the OF Bildungsbüro.
What once began with printed flyers is now predominantly digital. The buzzword is 24/7: citizens can find out about the wide range of educational opportunities on offer in Offenbach at any time at www.offenbach.de/bildungsbuero. The variety of offers is clearly structured according to target groups: Children and young people, adults, parents and families, newcomers and educational professionals can quickly find suitable, detailed information and contact points.
City Councillor and Head of Education Paul-Gerhard Weiß has supported the service point from the very beginning: "What was missing in Offenbach in 2010 was a neutral contact point that sorts educational offers and helps to get an overview. With the Education Office, we have created such a service point. Today, after 15 successful years, it is clear that it has not only established itself as a place that acts as a competent educational guide for those seeking advice. The education portal also provides a comprehensive digital overview of the wide range of courses on offer - from nursery school to career entry, from vacation offers to further education. The valuable work of the OF Bildungsbüro continues to deserve my full support."
The idea of a free, open, neutral and confidential point of contact for educational issues was born in the local authority project "Lernen vor Ort". Since 2014, the OF Education Office has been part of the Education Coordination and Advice Center at vhs Offenbach.
"From the very beginning, our aim was to make education accessible to everyone at a low threshold," says Jasmin Hambach, a consultant at the OF Education Office since 2013. "The educational landscape is complex and constantly changing. It's important to keep an overview, identify gaps in the offer or keep an eye on current topics. For example, we recently published bundled information for parents on the dangers and risks of digital media on our website," says Hambach.
Dirk Wolk-Pöhlmann, head of the vhs and responsible for the education office, says proudly: "With the 15th anniversary video and the comprehensive, round-the-clock online offer, we invite the people of Offenbach to get up-to-date and reliable information about education."
