Offenbach am Main, October 27, 2022 - The final major phase of the redesign of Marktplatz begins on October 31. The new concrete roadway at Frankfurter Straße will be completed by the end of the year. A new drinking water pipeline will be laid from the Schwanen pharmacy in the direction of Berliner Straße by the Zweckverband Wasserversorgung Stadt und Kreis Offenbach (ZWO). Energienetze Offenbach GmbH (ENO) is also using the remaining weeks to lay the last power cables in the ground. All remaining sidewalk areas that could not yet be completed due to the civil engineering work will then be paved. Large prefabricated concrete parts for the reconstruction of the Ottomar Gassenmeyer fountain have already been delivered and installed in the southern area of the market square. This concerns the technical shaft for the water and electricity supply as well as the concrete base for the future illuminated and newly staged fountain.
