Privacy policy of the municipal utilities

Welcome to the website of Stadtwerke Offenbach. The protection of your data is very important to the City of Offenbach am Main and Stadtwerke Offenbach (hereinafter referred to as "we"), which is why we would like to inform you on this page about what data we collect during your visit and for what purposes. Your data is protected by us in particular within the framework of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the Hessian Data Protection Act (HDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG). In principle, no personal data is collected, processed or used when you visit our website.

Log and statistical data

Each time our website is accessed and each time a file is retrieved, the IP address, date and time, URL of the page visited, status code of the web server, amount of data transferred in bytes, the URL of the last website visited (referrer) and the web browser used (user agent) are stored in a log file. They are used exclusively for the purpose of data security and error analysis and are not passed on to third parties. The log data is deleted after eight days.

We reserve the right to activate complete logging of access for a limited period in the event of manipulation or attempted manipulation of this website.

For analysis purposes, we use the open source software Matomo (formerly Piwik), which also stores anonymized IP addresses. Anonymization is achieved by shortening the IP address. This means that no conclusions can be drawn about an Internet visitor. Matomo also collects certain technical information based on the data transmitted by your browser. These are Browser type and version, operating system used, device type, model and brand, screen resolution, the search engine used by your device, the websites visited on our site including the time spent on them, the day and time of your visit, the location of your visit (continent, country, region, city) and the browser language. We only evaluate this information for statistical purposes. The data is not passed on to third parties.

Cookies

The Matomo software for the statistical analysis of visitor access uses so-called cookies. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable your use of the website to be analyzed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is not passed on to third parties. The IP address is anonymized immediately after processing and before it is stored. You can prevent the installation of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly if you do not wish cookies to be used by our website.

The respective special legal regulations apply to the collection and use of this data: for example, the Hessian Registration Act (HMG), the Social Security Code (SGB), the Aliens Act (AuslG), the BDSG and HDSG. Your personal data will only be stored for as long as is necessary for the use of the respective service. Your data will not be transferred to third parties unless we are legally obliged to do so.

This process is documented and stored by Sitepark GmbH. When you log in, a so-called "key" is generated that allows your device to be uniquely identified. This key consists of a cryptic sequence of numbers that does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about the user. The time of login and a browser or device ID are stored. This data is used on the one hand to send you push messages and on the other hand as proof of your registration.

A so-called "ServiceWorker" is used to receive push notifications, which receives the push notifications on your devices and informs you when push notifications are received. This ServiceWorker is a JavaScript program that runs in the background of your browser. In addition, the content management system of the external service provider Sitepark GmbH, Neubrückerstraße 8 - 11, 48143 Münster, Germany, is used.
