The Capitol team at a glance
To mark the anniversary, the Capitol Theater team members introduce themselves at their respective workplaces with a short profile. They will answer the questions:
1: How long have you been part of the team?
2: Which star/celebrity would you like to see on the Capitol stage?
3: What has been your highlight of the last few years?
Birgit - there from the start
1) I joined the Capitol Theater in 1998 as event manager and have been managing director here since 2001.
2) I would like to see Adele, Barbara Streisand and Ed Sheeran on our stage.
3) My highlights of the past few years include performances by Coldplay, James Blunt and Eric Clapton. But it's not just the big names that are a "highlight" for me. It's generally events that are exciting, captivating and entertaining: for example, an interview with Senta Berger during an event at a major bank. You could feel her aura everywhere as she talked about her life. You could have heard a pin drop, the audience was so captivated. Or my conversation with Oscar-winning director Volker Schlöndorff at the Hessian Film Awards, who asked for lots of information about the Capitol Theater. Or my meeting with the former ECB President, Jean-Claude Trichet, who greeted me very charmingly in French and I couldn't think of a single French word. Incidentally, that's also one reason why I've been taking French lessons for a few years now...
Then there was the appearance of Heino, in the rocker version, as a surprise guest at a Christmas party. Many had expected Helene Fischer, and some were initially disappointed. BUT: Heino was great and managed to put 1,000 guests of all ages in a party mood. Or the live talk with Prof. Michel Friedman and Enissa Amani, exciting and entertaining at the same time.
Or, or, or ... there were so many great encounters!
