Live streams from the Capitol
In times of pandemic, necessity is the mother of invention. More and more live streams are now reaching the public from the Capitol Theater in Offenbach, whose large auditorium has had to remain closed to the public for almost 14 months: most recently, the Frankfurt-Rhine-Main Chamber of Skilled Crafts staged its series of talks with Michel Friedman here in April 2021.
The presenter spoke with the Chair of the European Ethics Council, Prof. Dr. Christiane Woopen, about "Life and Death" in front of the impressive backdrop of the former synagogue. The talk series "Handwerk trifft" deals with pressing issues of our time and uses various locations in the chamber district to do so.

"Virtual gala on a big stage"
The anniversary gala for "100 years of Nassauische Heimstätte" also took place as a live stream from the Capitol in mid-December 2020 - "a virtual gala on a very large stage", as the film clip on YouTube puts it. Large screens told the story of Heimstätte's history, while the future prospects floated onto the stage as a block from above. Hesse's Minister President Volker Bouffier and State Minister for Economic Affairs Tarek Al-Wazir came to the Capitol as digital speakers.
The Start Foundation addresses a completely different target group: Under the motto "Home for young commitment", it is the only program in Germany to award scholarships for pupils with a migration background. Last winter, the foundation used the Carl-Dienemann-Saal in the Capitol, also known as the Universum, for a streaming event with almost 200 participants.
"We are delighted that we are bringing at least a touch of events back to the Capitol with these formats despite the coronavirus restrictions," says its Managing Director Birgit von Hellborn.
