Behind the Scenes at the Capitol Theater
07.08.2026 – The Offenbach Adult Education Center (vhs) and Stadtwerke Offenbach are continuing their joint series of events. Three public tours will bring the vhs’s annual theme, “Shaping Tomorrow Together,” to life at Stadtwerke. To kick things off, the Capitol Theater will offer a rare behind-the-scenes look on Tuesday, August 18.

In 2026, the vhs Offenbach will focus on promoting democracy. As a place for education, connection, and exchange, it brings together people with diverse experiences and perspectives. This aligns perfectly with the diverse program at the Capitol Theater Offenbach: The event venue operated by Stadtwerke Offenbach—a former synagogue—hosts international superstars and top regional athletes, global companies and local clubs, comedy shows, and the Classic Lounge.
During the guided tour, participants gain fascinating insights into areas that are normally off-limits to visitors. Among other things, the tour highlights the technical facilities and the wide range of behind-the-scenes tasks at this popular venue.
A Look Behind the Scenes – Guided Tour of the Capitol Offenbach

The two additional tours in this series serve as examples of how the Stadtwerke Offenbach team is working together across the city to shape the future of Offenbach: The flood pump station with its lock complex—and thus a small part of the 270-kilometer-long sewer network managed by Stadtservice—will be the focus on September 25. In addition, through its Geschäftsfeld Immobilien, Stadtwerke supports the city’s extraordinary commitment to education: The implementation of municipal new construction and renovation projects at schools and daycare centers will be explained at the end of October (the exact date will be announced) using the Fröbelschule as an example.
