City of Offenbach

Capitol Classic Lounge

Experience great classical music intensively - under this motto, the Capitol Classic Lounge has been offering extraordinary concerts in Offenbach's Capitol Theater since 2006.

The Capitol is always particularly colorful at the Panorama Lounge - here in November 2023 at the "Symphony of Flavors".

Since the beginning of the series, the extraordinary programs that Dr. Ralph Philipp Ziegler has dramaturgically designed as artistic director have been a hallmark of the CCL. "The orchestra takes serious matters seriously, but it also embraces many other things that make life exciting and beautiful." The mixture of grand symphonies and small surprises fits in perfectly with the Capitol - a "historically charged building that is both chic and glamorous", says Ziegler.

The Capitol Symphony Orchestra gave a guest performance in Oman in spring 2019.
Offenbach's Capitol, a former synagogue, provides the venerable setting for the Classic Lounge.

Since 2019, the connection to the home venue has been even more evident in the name: the Capitol Symphony Orchestra now performs here. After 20 very successful years together, the founders of the previous CCL orchestra, the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt - Ziegler and Dirk Eisermann - decided to go their own musical ways. The orchestra gave its first guest performance in Oman in 2019 and works together with the European Film Philharmonic and the TV broadcaster ARTE due to its involvement in silent films. However, the musical backbone of the orchestra is and remains the Capitol Classic Lounge.
