Wall to Lilipark free of graffiti again
28.10.2016 – In 2007, the project "Besser leben in Offenbach" (Better living in Offenbach) took on the smeared brick wall facing Lilipark on Herrnstraße for the first time and had the graffiti completely removed. The positive effect of this cleaning campaign lasted for nine years and the wall had remained free of graffiti until then. In the summer of this year, however, it was covered in graffiti again.
Sabine Süßmann, project manager of "Besser Leben in Offenbach", immediately took the initiative and commissioned the graffiti removal. "It is part of our aftercare duty to monitor the projects that we have supervised. In a case like the wall in Herrnstraße, it's important to react quickly before it becomes even more of a smearing ground and an area for copycats." The company Etras cleaned the wall within a short space of time. The cost of 500 euros for the cleaning was borne by the project. Reacting early to remove such graffiti helps to save costs.
The responsible head of the public order department, Mayor Peter Schneider, also supports the commitment of "Besser leben in Offenbach": "We are pleased that the "Besser leben in Offenbach" project is making a sustainable commitment to upgrading the city and bundling the commitment of active citizens in campaigns. In this way, they contribute to the preservation of public spaces and areas without putting too much strain on the city's finances."
