Neighborhoods and housing
There are three districts in Offenbach harbor, each with its own character: Hafenplatz, Hafeninsel and Hafencampus. Over the years, a large number of high-quality rental apartments and condominiums in waterfront locations have been built on the harbor island.
Quarters
Harbor square
Residents, guests and tourists immerse themselves in the new lifestyle at Offenbach harbor on Hafenplatz. Hafenplatz is a striking prelude - the place to see and be seen. From 2013 to the end of 2015, the district center was built in the center, offering local amenities, restaurants, living space and more. This is where people shop and drink coffee, where they go to the hairdresser or doctor, where young and old meet to stroll along the sunny footbridge that leads across the water. Opposite, the large harbor staircase, a trademark of the area, leads down to the water.
Harbor island
The harbor island offers a unique view of the water, the Die Grünen and the Frankfurt skyline. The tip of the island is an exposed box seat for sophisticated companies, restaurants and hotels. Bridges connect the quarter with the harbor campus and the marina. The unique waterfront location invites you to arrive and stay. ABG Frankfurt Holding built its "Mainzeile" here, 178 rental apartments to passive house standards. Not far from here, 153 owner-occupied apartments were built in modern city villas called Hafengold.
Harbor campus
Elementary school and daycare center are the first users to moor at the educational campus on Mainkai. The harbor school was inaugurated for the 2017/2018 school year. Adjacent to it, the new building of the Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) is to be built as the core of the planned innovation cluster. The Hafencampus connects the Offenbach port with the creative locations in the neighboring Nordend district, with the nearby trendy clubs and with the Hafen 2 cultural center. The May gardens and playgrounds between the buildings are like green islands.
Living
Short distances, inspiration for new ideas and plenty of space for relaxation make life in the harbor district attractive. The diverse range of amenities connects areas of life across all generations and the entire daily routine: from daycare centers to universities to senior citizens' apartments, from morning jogs to business lunches, errands for daily needs, visits to the hairdresser or doctor in between to sundowners with a view of the harbor, everything is possible.
The district's cultural and leisure facilities in particular contribute to its creative flair. An urban microcosm has already emerged, making Offenbach Harbour a highly regarded meeting place beyond the city limits. With the Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG), education is prominently anchored at the port. The port's own all-day elementary school with day nursery contributes to the family and employee friendliness of Offenbach port.
