Training for senior citizens

Do you still feel unsure about getting on public transport? You don't know exactly how to find a connection to your desired destination? You don't know how to use the ticket machine? Then you've come to the right place!

Seniors teach seniors
The idea of Senioren-schulen-Senioren is a simple one: NiO wants to take away the fear of using public transport from people in their prime, break down barriers to access and show them how to use buses and trains safely. Who better to explain this than people from this age group? During the course of the training, it becomes clear time and again that the older people are happy to have people from their own age group to identify with in their public transport instructors.

What you can learn...
A senior citizen training course is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the "lessons" you will learn which tickets are right for your journey, how to plan your trip and where to find which information, how and where you can get advice and much more. The trainers will also answer all the questions you have always wanted to know the answer to. In the practical part, you can apply what you have learned straight away. Together you will go to a specially prepared bus, learn how to find your way around the bus stop, how to get on the bus correctly and how to behave in the vehicle. The highlight for most senior citizens is a short lesson at the ticket machine, during which the trainers take their time to explain how the machine works.

Personal support after the course
If you are still a little unsure after the senior training course, please contact the trainers. They will be happy to put you in touch with our RMV mobi partners. The RMV mobile partners are also older people who will accompany you on your first or second journey by bus & train and show you again how to buy a ticket from the ticket machine, for example, and help you with anything else you need to know.
