Line 107 will cross the Buchhügel in future
18.05.2022 – In addition to the connection to the Caritas site, a connection to the Buchhügel district will also be ensured.
Mayor and Head of Mobility Sabine GroßFrom the outset, we have included an additional buffer in our planning and will use part of it for the Buchhügel. From July, line 107 will serve some of the stops previously served by the 106. Specifically, these are the stops Goerdelerstraße, Wetterpark, Markusplatz and Feuerwache. This is our response to feedback from Offenbach residents and city councillors.
Line 107 runs every 30 minutes from Monday to Saturday. "The planned improvement to the service for Caritas and Buchhügel is right and important and possible thanks to the reserves provided for in the concept. However, there are still risks in other areas of the planning presented and the planned buffer has already been used up to a considerable extent with these measures. In principle, it is not possible to implement the specified savings volume without a noticeable deterioration in the service, you have to be honest. That is why it will not be possible to make improvements everywhere," Groß continued.
As with Caritas, city treasurer Martin Wilhelm also pointed out that the concept - as publicly communicated from the outset - provides for reserve services that are to be used to optimize the individual routes: "With the development of the timetable, it has now been possible to define a route for Buchhügel in addition to Caritas and the south of Offenbach that will continue to provide a connection. In this way, we have succeeded in implementing the necessary savings in public transport and making further optimizations within this cost framework."
