New timetables from December 14 - Line 108 will connect Waldheim and Rumpenheim in future
08.12.2025 – From Sunday, December 14, new timetables for buses and trains will apply nationwide. The changes to Offenbach's city bus services are manageable this year: the routes of lines 108 and 120 will be adjusted and there will be adjustments to school transport.
Line 108 runs seven times a day to Waldheim
In future, bus route 108 will be extended from Monday to Friday to seven trips a day from the previous terminus "Biebernseeweg" via the "Bischofsheimer Weg" stop to the "Neuer Friedhof" stop. "By extending line 108, we are creating a direct connection from Rumpenheim to Waldheim. Citizens from these districts will be able to get to work, school or the doctor more quickly. In particular, the Anni-Emmerling-Haus senior citizens' center in Biebernsee will be better connected to public transport," says Mayor and Head of Mobility Sabine Groß.
"Thanks to the very successful reorganization process, we were able to expand transport services last year without the need for additional funding. We worked hard during the reorganization process to make this possible again. At the beginning of the process, I promised that we would symbolically turn over every stone and see where we could save costs. Thanks to the highly committed employees and management of the Geschäftsfeld Mobilität business unit, we have not only managed to find and leverage potential savings, but also to generate income through special transport services. This makes the moderate expansion on route 108 possible," says Sabine Groß
New route for line 120 from Mühlheim
From the timetable change, line 120 will no longer run on the section between the "Friedensstraße" stop in Mühlheim and the "Haus Jona" stop in Obertshausen. Instead, the buses on line 120 will in future travel to the new terminus "Dietesheim Friedhof" and offer the option of changing to the S-Bahn at the stations "Mühlheim Bahnhof Nordseite" and "Dietesheim S-Bahn".
In the direction of the city center, the buses will travel via Dietesheimer Straße to the "Am Anger" stop and then continue on the familiar route. In future, the OF-32 line will run between Mühlheim and Obertshausen and the V32 line between Mühlheim and Lämmerspiel.
Changes to school transport
The V03 school bus line, which has been running since September from the "Eibenweg" stop at the Eichen via Ostbahnhof, Theodor-Heuss-Schule and Hauptbahnhof to the final stop "Parkstraße" in Westend, will be retained. The booster bus line V04 between Lauterbornschule and Marktplatz with departure at 07.09 a.m. will be discontinued with the timetable change; instead, articulated buses will be used on lines 104 and 105 at this time.
Data from bus printers form the basis for new timetables
"To determine where there is a need for optimization in the city bus network, our operations control department analyses the data recorded by the bus printers - the on-board computers of the buses. For example, we evaluate the utilization of the buses on individual routes over the course of the day as well as the boarding and alighting times at the individual stops and the timetable deviations from the previous year. The data forms the basis for timetable adjustments," explains Anja Georgi, Managing Director of Stadtwerke's Geschäftsfeld Mobilität.
Changes in road traffic - such as new speed limits on certain sections of the route or long-term roadworks - also have an impact on the timetable. If this changes the journey time on one section of a route, this can have an impact on the entire timetable, as the bus routes are timed in such a way that there are opportunities to change to other routes at the junctions.
The new timetable must be ready by the end of October. The data is then forwarded to RMV and the production of public transport city maps, timetables and route network maps begins.
