Green "store" at the depot in Hebestrasse

A charging station for electric vehicles has been located at the Mobility business unit's depot at Hebestrasse 14 since summer 2016. After successfully undergoing a practical test in recent months, it is now also available to external users.

The new charging station at Hebestrasse 14 has a snazzy green and white eMiO design.

Geschäftsfeld Mobilität opens new fast-charging station on its premises

The charging infrastructure was set up as part of the "eMiO - Electromobility in Offenbach" funding project. The station is operated by OVB Offenbacher Verkehrs-Betriebe.

The charging station is a fast charging station from ABB, which is equipped with the three common plug types Type 2, CCS and CHAdeMO and is therefore compatible with current electric vehicle models.

A user-friendly touch display allows the user to easily control the desired charging connection. Electric vehicles can be charged here in a very short time, depending on the charge status and type/model of the vehicle. The standard charging time is around 30 minutes. A charging capacity of up to 43 kW (AC) can be accessed via the type 2 plug, which is suitable for charging the Renault Zoe and the Smart ed, for example. With the CCS system (Combined Charging System), 50 kW fast charging (DC) of the BMW i3, VW e-Up! or VW e-Golf is possible. The Nissan Leaf and Mitsubishi MEV can also be charged quickly at 50 kW (DC) via the CHAdeMO plug.

Charging is currently possible without registration and free of charge, i.e. no RFID card is required and there is no billing. However, users should note that the charging time at the designated parking space is limited to one hour.

By the way: For a long time now, all of the city's electric mobility services have been using exclusivelyCO2-free green electricity, which is certified annually by TÜV Rheinland.
