Cemeteries are not only places of mourning, they are also places of peace, reflection and encounter - they are places of life. The cemetery newspaper Ruhepunkt is published twice a year to provide information about Offenbach's cemeteries, to get to know what they have to offer and to tell interesting stories about everyday cemetery life.     Prayer: Words that carry

    When people visit a cemetery, they often come with many thoughts and feelings. Memories arise and sometimes questions too. Gratitude or pain - or both at the same time - can be felt. Some then say a prayer, in traditional form or with very spontaneous words. Both create a moment of reflection and a space for what often has no place in everyday life.

    New strings and pages for Offenbach

    The Pirazzi tomb is somewhat hidden to the left of the main entrance to the Old Cemetery. The family helped shape the development of Offenbach with their string production and commitment.

    Renovation of the mourning hall makes progress

    The renovation of the mourning hall at the New Cemetery in Offenbach is well on schedule: the shell for the new cold storage cells has been completed and most of the roof has been renewed.

    Where mourners find a sympathetic ear

    The new "Place of the Senses" at the New Cemetery also includes a mourners' bench. Since April 2026, the Ökumenische Hospizbewegung Offenbach e.V. (Ecumenical Hospice Movement Offenbach) has been inviting people to meet and talk there every month.

The cemeteries are open as follows:

November through February:
Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: 8.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.

March and October:
Monday-Friday: 7.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: 8.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.

April to September:
Monday-Friday: 7.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: 7.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m.
