Purple benches for the cemeteries
To mark its 50th birthday, the Treuhandstelle für Dauergrabpflege Hessen-Thüringen GmbH is giving out gifts itself: close partners will receive purple benches for their cemeteries over the course of the year. There are now three of these original seats at Offenbach's resting places.
On Wednesday, May 10, Sabrina Eggert, authorized signatory of the trust company, handed over the purple benches to Mayor Peter Schneider, Gabriele Schreiber, Head of Stadtwerke Offenbach's municipal cemeteries, and Christian Loose, Deputy Head of ESO Eigenbetrieb in the Stadtwerke Offenbach Group's Stadtservice business field. Two of the eye-catchers will now be installed at the gardener-managed graves in the Bieber and Bürgel cemeteries. The third bench will be placed at the resting place in Rumpenheim, where a gardener-managed field will also be created in the coming weeks.
"The cemeteries are increasingly becoming green recreational spaces in the city," says Mayor Schneider. "The new benches invite visitors to linger here and also offer the opportunity to exchange ideas."
Treuhandstelle für Dauergrabpflege Hessen-Thüringen GmbH works with more than 500 contractors - cemetery gardeners, morticians and stonemasons - who provide numerous services related to grave maintenance. "Such gardener-maintained communal graves, which we have been offering in Offenbach since 2009, are meeting with an ever-increasing response," says Gabriele Schreiber. With her gift, the trust office thanked her for the pleasant and successful cooperation.
