Coffin building workshop: "A piece of furniture for the last journey"

An extraordinary event will take place in May 2026 under the arcades of the Offenbach cemetery administration at the New Cemetery: "A piece of furniture for the last journey" will be created in a coffin construction workshop offered by Mikel Hogan in cooperation with Treffpunkt Friedhof e.V..

The workshop is not only a handicraft challenge, but also an opportunity to reflect on death and life. The coffin is reinterpreted as a work of art and piece of furniture - and can then even serve as an impressive element in the respective home.

Participants learn how to construct a coffin from Nordic spruce. They are guided step by step, which is why the course is suitable for beginners and advanced students. The small group of a maximum of six people also offers the opportunity to work together on a special project and to discuss this sensitive topic with like-minded people.
