Videos of funeral services

15.04.2020 – Mourners are being hit particularly hard by the coronavirus crisis: they are not allowed to receive comforting visits, cannot be hugged and funeral services must only be held in the smallest of circles due to the current regulations. Including the clergy or funeral speaker, a maximum of five people are allowed to say goodbye at the grave; many family members or friends cannot attend.

Relatives can commission video recordings

The administration of Offenbach's municipal cemeteries has now suggested to the morticians that a photographer in Offenbach could make video recordings of the funeral service for a fee. The client would be the relatives themselves, and the process would be handled by Pietäten. The relatives can then pass the recording on to those who were not allowed to be part of the small mourning congregation.

The Stadtwerke Group does not make any financial gain from this. It would like to give all mourners who were excluded from the funeral service the opportunity to come to terms with the death of their loved one through virtual participation.

Further information can be found at Pietäten.
