Last year, a fire broke out in the hall used for the temporary storage of waste. Despite the rapid intervention of the fire department, considerable damage was caused. In particular, the roof beams were damaged by the intense heat. The cranes are now at the depot in Daimlerstraße to hoist the new beams onto the roof structure. The next step will be to re-cover the hall roof. Christian Loose, Deputy Head of the City of Offenbach's own municipal services company (left) and Frank Herzog, Head of Innovation and Technology at Stadtwerke Offenbach's Stadtservice (center), explained to Martin Wilhelm the scope of the work and what interim solutions have been found for the hall's outage. It is expected to be back in operation by the middle of the year. "The fire and its consequences were a major challenge for the employees, which they mastered with a great deal of commitment and flexibility," emphasized City Treasurer Martin Wilhelm. "My special thanks go to all employees who kept operations going despite the difficult circumstances. I am all the more pleased that we are now making good progress and that the sorting hall will be back in operation in a few months' time."
