Stadtservice awards sponsorships for beds in the Roland Garden
03.04.2025 – Stadtwerke Offenbach's quality assurance department is looking for green sponsors for the raised beds in the Senefelderquartier's Rolandgarten. People with green fingers and an appetite for home-grown fruit and vegetables can apply.
Now, in spring, the 15 raised beds are to be replaced and their arrangement changed. This will create space for a willow tipi that the Intercontinental Gardens would like to install there. As the 15 wooden surrounds for the beds are now outdated, dilapidated and no longer a pretty sight, they will be gradually replaced as part of the renovation project.
Fruit, vegetables and herbs are planted
Recently, Stadtwerke Offenbach's quality assurance department has been taking care of the raised beds. Most recently, berries were planted in them, which all visitors to the green space in the Senefelderquartier were allowed to snack on. Fruit, vegetables and herbs will also be grown in the raised beds in the future, but the varieties can be chosen by the green sponsors.
Once the new acquisitions are on the site, the volunteers can get started. However, those interested should bear in mind that sufficient watering is also part of the sponsorship, especially in midsummer.
Stadtservice covers costs for soil and initial planting
Support is provided by the Quality Assurance department. It covers the material costs for the soil and the initial planting. The team also provides tips on selection and care. However, the sponsors must tolerate other visitors to the area picking fruit for their own use.
