City of Offenbach

6000 square meters of roads and cycle paths newly asphalted

13.09.2025 – Car tires are not pampered everywhere in Offenbach, but Stadtwerke Offenbach's Stadtservice has once again ensured smooth roadways and cycle paths in several places in the city this year. A good 1000 square meters of new asphalt was laid on a section of Lindenstraße, around 1500 square meters on a section of Senefelderstraße, around 2500 square meters were worked on a section of Seligenstädter Straße and around 1200 square meters were repaired on Gabelsbergerstraße.

Special budget of 1.1 million euros

"We are aware that there is also a need for action on other carriageways," says city treasurer and responsible department head Martin Wilhelm. "Unfortunately, however, the budget situation does not currently allow for work on a larger scale. However, it is good to see that sections of road are still being maintained on selected important routes."

In total, the Stadtservice of Stadtwerke has a special budget of around 1.1 million euros gross available for road maintenance. This is divided into roughly three equal parts, which are spent on repairing roads, cycle paths and sidewalks.

Highly frequented connections are prioritized

The responsible civil engineering department of Stadtservice decides which routes are repaired based on the severity of the damage reported by road users or via the defect report. This also takes into account how frequent the road is and which means of transport regularly use it. Seligenstädter Straße, for example, was prioritized because it is one of the highly frequented routes used by cars, bicycles and buses.
