Stadtservice donates wood chips and sand to the forest zoo

28.04.2025 – The budgerigars at Offenbach Forest Zoo are currently pecking and hopping on wood chips provided by Stadtwerke Offenbach. The pieces of wood were collected during tree maintenance by the greenery department of Stadtwerke's Stadtservice subsidiary and were made available to the forest zoo as bedding.

Animal keeper Mandy Bukowski and Tobias Milbrat from Stadtwerke Offenbach's Stadtservice quality assurance department after distributing the woodchippings in the budgies' aviary.

The pieces of wood were collected during tree maintenance work by the greenery department of the Stadtservice subsidiary and were made available to the forest zoo as bedding. In addition, the Stadtservice's quality assurance department brought over sand that had been left over from construction work and would not have been worth storing. Not only the budgies, but also the kangaroos and parrots at the forest zoo benefit from the donated material.
