Daily cleaning for the playground at Friedrichsweiher

08.05.2026 – The redesigned playground at Friedrichsweiher has been very well received. Many children and adults come here, often from further afield. As playing and supervision make you hungry, there is also a lot of waste.

"Stadtwerke Offenbach's quality assurance department has already established that the empirical values on the volume of waste from other playgrounds, including new areas, are not transferable here," says City Treasurer and responsible department head Martin Wilhelm. "That's why improvements were made."

Stadtservice empties the waste bins every day

Since last week, Stadtwerke Offenbach's Stadtservice has been cleaning and emptying the litter bins there every day, including on public holidays. In coordination with the city's Planning and Building Department, two waste garbage cans with double the volume have also been ordered to replace two particularly heavily used bins as soon as possible.

Since last week, a collection container has been set up specifically for empty pizza boxes. The quality assurance checks carried out by Stadtwerke Offenbach's Stadtservice had shown that many of the waste garbage cans were being blocked by this bulky packaging. The special bin is already being well used.

Second dog waste bag dispenser and mobile toilet are installed

As some dog owners leave their pets' excrement on the playground, a dispenser for dog waste bags will be installed at the Brüder-Grimm-Straße entrance in the near future. There is already one at the Senefelder Straße entrance. There are also problems with human waste. For this reason, a mobile toilet, which is also accessible for the disabled, is expected to be installed at the playground next week.

The quality assurance staff will continue to monitor this very busy park and playground closely and observe developments so that adjustments can be made if necessary.
