Harbor garden
Soil, seeds, a watering can, fresh water and good weather: that's all you need to create little oases in no time at all. The harbour garden project provides around 10,600 square meters of space where you can garden to your heart's content in boxes, sacks, tins and other containers.
Strawberries, herbs, salads, tomatoes, apple trees and summer flowers have their place between the former marina and the Nordring. The participating amateur gardeners decide for themselves exactly what they want to grow. In addition to the harvest, the area is also a meeting place for the residents of Nordend, where they can sit comfortably in the sun and watch their plants grow.
The idea of urban gardening has been implemented in the harbor garden in Offenbach for ten years. What was created in 2013 as an interim use to revitalize the former industrial wasteland has now grown into a green world of its own in the middle of a lively residential area.
