The remaining kilometers are cleaned by the respective residents. As part of the cleaning by ESO, its employees remove several tons of garbage every day. Depending on the time of year, this quantity increases to many times the normal amount due to flowers, leaves and grit. For this purpose, several decentralized unloading points for garbage are used in the city area, the number of which is increased to fifteen decentralized unloading points during the leaf season in autumn in order to be able to clean Offenbach's streets of leaves quickly, effectively and safely.
In addition to these cleaning services, the cleaning of school playgrounds, fairgrounds and market squares, as well as the maintenance and cleaning of public toilets, the maintenance of dog bag dispensers and the cleaning of all the litter bins in the city area are also part of the main services provided by the street cleaning department, which also coordinates the winter services on streets, sidewalks and squares in Offenbach am Main.
If necessary, the street cleaning on-call service is also available to carry out necessary cleaning and oil spill removal after traffic accidents or to restore road safety on important and dangerous road sections as part of winter service operations.
As part of overarching project groups, such as "Better living in Offenbach" - an initiative of Stadtwerke Offenbach Holding GmbH (SOH) and other measures, the street cleaning department is in close contact with the citizens of the city of Offenbach as well as city administration offices and other institutions. We are therefore in constant dialog and always ready to use our expertise and efficiency to secure and improve the quality of life in Offenbach.
