Art opposite opens: Guided tours possible

24.04.2024 – Stadtwerke Offenbach has been exhibiting works of art at the Senefelderstraße location in cooperation with the Klingspor Museum since 2010. Around 70 people attended the opening of the exhibition "The Pictures of the Book Artists XIII - Christina Wildgrube and Dominik Gußmann" on April 16, 2024.

With this exhibition series, Stadtwerke Offenbach and the Klingspor Museum are focusing on the paintings, graphics and prints of artists whose top-class book art is collected by the Klingspor Museum Offenbach.

More about the artist

Christina Wildgrube surprises the printmaking scene with her unusual love of experimentation, both in terms of technique and motif. She translates materials from classical lead typesetting into an unusual language, primarily to depict landscapes.

Dominik Gußmann, head of the Offenbach museums' print workshop, is at home in various printing techniques, with a preference for lithography. His subjects are the human body as well as more or less amorphous shapes.

"Both protagonists of contemporary printing in original graphic techniques deal subtly with explorations of pictorial reality in comparison to natural perception. Especially where print is expected to achieve a high degree of reproduction accuracy, the artistic visual languages counter with finely nuanced irritations of expected pictorial subjects," said Dr. Stefan Soltek, former director of the Klingspor Museum, at the opening of the exhibition.

Dominik Gussmann also explained his works at the vernissage:

The exhibition at Stadtwerke Offenbach, Senefelderstraße 162, will run until February 28, 2025. Dr. Stefan Soltek will guide visitors through the exhibition on three Wednesdays at 6 pm. Anyone interested is cordially invited to register at klingspormuseumoffenbachde or stefan.soltekoffenbachde.
