180 Christmas parcels for children in need
Almost 180 lovingly filled and colorfully wrapped shoe boxes were collected at Stadtwerke Offenbach for the Christmas parcel campaign of the Kinderzukunft foundation.
It wasn't just the employees who diligently wrapped presents for children and young people in need: Sandra Vater, assistant to the works council, brought numerous packages to the Stadtwerke collection point on Senefelderstrasse. She had organized this via the O.K. Kids e.V. support association of the Erasmus-Bildungshaus.
"I am very pleased about this social commitment by our employees," says Stadtwerke Managing Director Peter Walther. "Even and especially during the coronavirus crisis, it is important to show solidarity with people in need - and Christmas parcels for the next generation are a particularly nice gesture."
Philipp Kuhn from Corporate Communications initiated the collection for the second time. Stadtwerke Offenbach is supporting the campaign by paying the fees for the parcels and taking the gifts to the foundation's contact point. From there, the gifts are now taken to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania and Ukraine and distributed locally to girls and boys in orphanages, clinics, schools, kindergartens and the slums of towns and villages.
