Growing demand: Stadthalle and Capitol are well booked
27.01.2026 – Offenbach's municipal event venues remain on course for success: the Stadthalle Offenbach and Capitol Theater hosted around 157,500 guests at 218 events in 2025. And demand for the new year is particularly high: there are already 140 dates on the calendar for 2026 in January.
"Above all, interest in our Stadthalle has increased," reports Birgit von Hellborn, Managing Director of Capitol and Stadthalle. In addition to the popular unseated concerts - the performance by the rock band Biffy Clyro on February 13 has been sold out for months - the variety of events is growing. For example, psychologist and bestselling author Dr. Leon Windscheid not only presented his current tour program "Alles perfekt" on 15 January: he also invited school classes, teachers and other interested parties to a discussion with Auschwitz survivor Eva Szepesi and her daughter at short notice for the afternoon. "The event was very moving for many of the more than 1,000 people in attendance, including myself," reports Birgit von Hellborn. "It was very quiet because everyone listened so intently. Especially in this day and age, it is particularly important to remember the Holocaust again and again."
In 2025, 90 events took place in the Stadthalle, nine more than in the previous year. There are already 63 events booked for 2026 - including legends such as mountaineer Reinhold Mesner (March 6) and local German rapper CAPO (April 18) as well as completely new formats such as a speaker event for hairdressers on January 25 and the Breakin' Circus in November. There will also be numerous company meetings.
Mountaineering, breakdancing & biodiversity
The Capitol Theater recorded around 53,000 guests at 128 events in 2025, which roughly corresponds to the good figures from the previous year. Bookings for 2026 also remain stable at the current time with 77 dates so far. "The consistently high demand confirms the quality of our cultural offering and the great interest of the audience," emphasizes Martin Wilhelm, Chairman of the Supervisory Board responsible for Capitol and Stadthalle. In addition to concerts, the Confetti Club and comedy, Capitol will also be hosting unprecedented formats in 2026, such as the multimedia biodiversity show on February 14 or "Knallegra", an interactive knowledge show about physics and chemistry with Professor Bummbastic for children aged 5-99 on February 21. Following the successful premiere in 2025, the German Health Ball will also take place at the Capitol Theater again in September 2026.
In 2025, 13 sold-out events at Stadtwerke Offenbach's venues received an individually designed Sold Out Award. The 50th "Anniversary Award" went to Oliver Rohrbeck and his team in September for a participatory radio play of the "Three?" - and eight more prizes were presented in the Capitol and Stadthalle by the end of the year. The first Sold Out Award 2026 went to OKV in mid-January for its sold-out show "Feuerwerk der guten Laune".
