Donation for new association "Offenbacher Helfen e. V. i. Gr."

23.08.2021 – The foyers of the Capitol and Stadthalle were once again used to collect money for a charitable cause. 1,000 euros were collected in this way, this time for the benefit of the victims of the flood disaster.

Birgit von Hellborn, Managing Director of Stadthalle Offenbach and the Capitol Theater Offenbach, presented the donations to Jessica Sam Roßo and Alexander Knöß, board members of the Offenbacher Helfen association, in the Capitol's atrium on Thursday, August 19. Founded on August 9, 2021, the association has set itself the task of helping people in need, currently the flood victims in Kreuzberg an der Ahr. The association members are themselves in the affected areas and are actively helping. They are in close contact with the local organizations and find out first-hand what materials are urgently needed.

"As Capitol Theater, we have already supported the first fundraising campaign. The theater stage served as a storage area and our truck transported the donations to the flood area. That's how we know that the aid will arrive exactly where it is needed," says Birgit von Hellborn, herself a founding member of the association, who is delighted that such a large sum of money can be handed over. Lord Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke also welcomes the commitment: "The association brings a piece of our Offenbach mentality to the crisis areas".

Since 2015, visitors have been able to drop donations into the "donation box" at the box offices of both Offenbach venues. The Theresien Children's and Youth Aid Center and the Fröbel School in Offenbach have already been supported in this way. Birgit von Hellborn hopes that many events can take place again soon so that an Offenbach institution or association can be supported again next year.
