A lively start to the new year
05.12.2024 – At the beginning of 2025, the Capitol Theater and Stadthalle Offenbach will once again present a varied selection of events in the Capitol and Stadthalle for all tastes and ages.
Capitol
The musical comedy "Weiber" on January 10 is ideal for a girls' night out, in which three women in their 50s ironically get into top party form.
The new year is then traditionally welcomed with music and variety: bubbly, cheerful sounds and breathtaking acts characterize the New Year's concert on 12 January, which is reminiscent of the great shows of the Roaring Twenties. The magic continues on January 26: Nicolai Friedrich presents his amazing magic and inexplicable mental experiments with style, charm and method.
A famous Jewish doctor takes to the Capitol stage just one day later: Theateressenz Offenbach presents "Professor Mamlock" on 27 January - a play written by the doctor and writer Friedrich Wolf in exile shortly after the National Socialists came to power. The production of that time also reflects current political events and discovers a frightening number of parallels. Lighter fare is offered by "The World of Musicals " with melodies from Cats, Evita, Mamma Mia and many more on February 2 and "Aladdin - The Musical" on February 9, which presents the magic of 1001 Nights in a new light. After Valentine's Day, it's high time for the Classic Lounge on February 23, all about love songs: the Capitol Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to the special magic of great emotions, from Beethoven's "Für Elise" to the theme of "Love Story" and Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams". The ConfettiClub 2025, as the Friday carnival that has been moved from the Stadthalle is now called, will be wild instead of romantic: the colorful carnival evening on February 28 promises the best party atmosphere - and costumes are mandatory.
Great emotions return to the stage with the ballet "Swan Lake" (March 1) and the ice music show "The Ice Queen" (March 6), things get devilish with the theater essence "Mephisto" (March 31), and powerful sounds from the Far East shake the stage with "Kokubu - The Drums of Japan" . One of the world's biggest drum shows is coming to Germany for the first time in 2025 on April 7 - and once again bringing a completely new format to the venerable building on Goethestrasse.
Town hall
Even before the Offenbach Carnival Association's traditional "Fireworks of Good Cheer" on January 18, 2025, the Stadthalle is starting the new year with a lot of joy: Star Entertainment's Film Orchestra obviously feels at home on Waldstrasse: after its premiere in 2024, it will first present "The Magical Music of Harry Potter" on January 23, and in the evening it will celebrate film music itself with "The Best of Hans Zimmer".
On February 15, the Stadthalle will once again be a well-known venue for international audiences when Balkan legend Lepa Brena demonstrates her 40 years of stage experience in a passionate performance. On February 21, the Underwater Bubble Show from Latvia takes its audience to completely different spheres: the elaborate staging of an imaginary underwater world - with drama and acrobatics, sand, magic and soap bubbles - takes us into the ocean of our souls. It makes children smile, adults think and brings something completely new to Offenbach.
In 2025, Jamie XX, one of the most influential producers of his generation and founding member of The xx, returns to the stage with his new album - in Hamburg, Berlin... and on March 18 in Offenbach. US rappers also like to perform in the Stadthalle: Destroy Lonely ("If looks could kill", "NOSTYLIST") will perform one of his four concerts in Germany here on March 21. The Rock Sympho show will bring legendary hits by AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Scorpions, Queen and others to Offenbach with a full orchestra. On April 5, the Home of Rock'n'Roll is set to become an authentic rock 'n' roll venue when hard rockers Godsmack storm the stage. Their world tour with greatest hits from 30 years of the band will bring the US musicians to Europe for 14 concerts - and Offenbach is also on the tour list for these guaranteed unholy nights on April 5.
