Annual Report 2025: Offenbach sets records for jobs and trade tax

The Offenbach am Main business location continues to develop positively, contrary to the national trend. With more than 53,000 jobs, there were more jobs in the city of Offenbach than there have been for 51 years. At the same time, the city achieved a new record in trade tax revenue of 135 million euros. This broke a decades-long downward trend. This should not be taken for granted, but is the result of dedicated work.

The figures show that the clear and long-term economic strategy is working even in difficult times. The upturn is real, but at the same time it remains necessary to continue working consistently to secure good framework conditions for companies and create new jobs.

The development is particularly visible on the Innovation Campus: SAMSON AG's new headquarters will be built there by the end of 2026, which is currently one of the largest industrial construction projects in Germany. The first production phase has already gone into operation: since October 2025, the positioners, one of the key products in the SAMSON portfolio, have been made entirely in Offenbach.

The biotech company BioSpring broke ground for its new production facility on the former Clariant site back in July 2025.

The Kaiserlei district is also becoming increasingly important: with the planned Kaiser district on the former KWU site and the establishment of international companies such as Lorenz Snacks and BYD, the location offers new opportunities for the future.

The test room has been revitalizing the city centre with innovative business ideas since 2025. In addition, the expansion of Station Mitte from 2026 is a central project that will provide new impetus for a lively community with a city library, retail, restaurants and meeting areas.
